Holi Festival: Holi, a festival of colors, celebrates the victory of good over evil. People of all ages celebrate it all over the country and color, glare, and sweets on each other. People, especially children, and adolescents are eagerly awaiting Holi, which is celebrated every year after the full moon of the Hindu Phalguna month, which is the March of the Gregorian calendar. This year’s Holi will be celebrated on Friday, March 18th.

 

On the eve of Holi, people perform a religious ritual in Holika Dahan, light a fire to burn “Holika”- a demoness which means the destruction of evil, and the next day, celebrate  by offering each other Gulaal, a water gun, and colored balloons, colors

The Holi Festival cannot be completed without enjoying the traditional Indian sweets Gujiyas and Thandai, a cold drink made from milk and dried fruits. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the last two years,  certain protocols must be followed when celebrating the festival. It is important to avoid meetings and maintain proper social distancing..
